Nothing predestined Bernard Lamonerie, the Tourangeau-born only son of a couple of schoolteachers, for his passion for trucks. With a degree in economics, our enthusiast gave up the national management of a pharmaceutical group to take up the presidency of transport Provins (Indre-et-Loire), the company he grew up with. After 55 years, a page in the history of transport has been turned. Throughout his many years as president of the Indre-et-Loire FNTR and vice-president of the national perishables transport commission, Bernard Lamonerie has been a privileged witness to an era of ever-increasing takeovers. In an interview with Alain Lancereau, he provides us with an economic approach to France's transport history, illustrated by over 200 previously unpublished photos.

Between 1985 and 2006, two-thirds of the top 50 groups disappeared from our roads, but not from our memories. From this period, when the French pavilion was still the most conquering in Europe, tons of archives remain, which our collector has exceptionally been kind enough to open, to share with you.
