For Saviem, the sixties were a time of renewal and growth. The renewal of the range, begun with the S models (S 5, 7 and 8), continued in 1965 and 1966 with the new SG 2 and SG 4, which were to be a huge success, not only in France but also abroad, as far afield as Black Africa. These vehicles, which established Saviem as a general-purpose manufacturer, were even manufactured under license in several countries.

But Saviem also moved into the long-haul truck segment with the introduction of a new top-of-the-range model, the JM 240. In the middle of the decade, Saviem, which had abandoned the hooded cab, tried to make a name for itself in the construction truck segment with specially designed models, the TP 170 and TP 240. This attempt was not to last long, but it did hold out until the arrival of MAN-supplied trucks with hoods. We invite you to discover all these models in this new special issue...
