DINA (Diesel Nacional S.A.) is a Mexican manufacturer founded in 1951 as part of the country's industrialization drive. The company produced mainly medium and heavy trucks, as well as buses.
From the 1970s-1980s, a significant part of the DINA truck range was developed from models made by the American manufacturer International Harvester (then Navistar), manufactured locally under license. These vehicles were largely based on the original cabs and technology, with adaptations to suit local operating conditions.
DINA trucks were mainly intended for the Mexican market, but were also exported to several Latin American countries. They were used in a variety of fields, including freight transport, distribution and public works.
This production comes at a time when the Mexican automotive industry relied heavily on partnerships with foreign manufacturers, combining local manufacturing with imported technologies.
